During the third weekend of September, the historic center of Cocconato takes a true step back in time. The streets come alive with an authentic medieval market featuring traditional craftsmen, ancient trades, jesters, musicians, and costumed reenactors. An immersive experience where you can taste local delicacies at traditional taverns and soak in the atmosphere of a bygone era.

The Donkey Palio and Historic Parade
September 28th

The most anticipated event of the year. The Palio day is the beating heart of Cocconato’s heritage:

• The Historical Parade: An impressive procession of hundreds of participants in exquisite medieval costumes winds through the village streets, reenacting historical events and local legends.
• The Palio Race: Following the parade, the exciting and lighthearted race takes place, where the village districts compete in a fun donkey race to win the coveted banner (Drappo).

An unmissable event combining passion, history, and festive fun in the heart of Monferrato.
